Barcode & Printing Disclaimer

Understand GS1 requirements, static QR limitations, print accuracy responsibilities, and scanner compatibility before using generated codes.

Review before publication

This draft disclaimer must be reviewed by the owner before public release. It does not replace standards documentation or qualified legal advice.

GS1 and product identifiers

Creating a valid barcode image or calculating a checksum does not grant ownership, registration, or assignment of a GTIN, UPC, or EAN identifier. Obtain legitimate identifiers where required and follow the receiving retailer’s standards. Code 128 is not automatically GS1-128.

Printing accuracy

PDFs use physical coordinates, but printer drivers, paper feed, scaling, stock measurements, and print quality affect the final output. Use actual size / 100%, calibrate your printer, and test before printing a large run. ITF-14 shipping-carton layouts need appropriate bearer bars and standards-compliant dimensions.

Scan compatibility

A successful phone scan is not a barcode quality certification. Devices and scanner settings differ. Use an appropriate verifier when your industry or retailer requires one. Camera scanning needs supported browser hardware and permission.

Static QR destinations

Static QR codes permanently encode their data. They do not expire through this service, but linked websites, apps, phone numbers, or networks may stop working or change owners. Verify destinations and reprint when the encoded data needs to change.
